⇧ SECTION LISTING

Please read the introductory notes to this poem.

A pdf file that shows the devanāgarī text, the transliteration and the chandas or metre pattern of the verses all on one page, in a 3-column table, may be downloaded for your convenience. Additionally this PDF will display the devanāgarī characters as they should. I am not sure they will be shown in the same way in different browsers. They should though.

Syllables (akṣaras) are either light (laghu) or heavy (guru). The 'x' refers to laghu syllables and the 'dash' to guru syllables. Egenes uses the 'breve' symbol for laghu syllables, so I will try to stick to this usage next time. A group of 3 syllables is called gaṇa.
