Run from life

⇧ SECTION LISTING

Run!
Until you start breathing.
But breathe from your navel,
Like when you did,
Long ago,
Before the time of the cradle …
When you were still alive.
Breathe!
Slowly …
So slow,
So quiet,
You could,
Almost,
Rescue your life.
Then,
Slow down your race,
Slow down your life.
Feel your breast panicking,
Trying to catch up your steps.
But hold your breath,
Up to the point when asphyxia
Starts to shake up your breast,
And makes your leftmost lung all sore,
Filling your nostrils and navel
With nothing and nil,
But winds of despair
A fish out of water
Would gladly die for.
But if,
Still,
Your feet can walk ahead
Of you and of your breath,
And your heart is young enough
To slow down its rate
And blow up our fate
That is the tyranny of life,
You’ll know you can survive
Our body’s urge to feel alive.
