Let me plant the seeds of fruits and flowers’ roots
And so believe that I can have a certain gift for life
I’ll be thinking soon that Eden thrives without a god
Right then, blow the wind and gale from bluest skies
To bend a heaven grown in fact from cow’s manure
Let me write a million lines of songs and poetry
That make me think my heart is sweet and noble
As any poet versed in crafts of love without a god
Now unleash the fire and pikes of lightning bolts
And burn the papers poets cherish more than prayers
Let me weave the web of new and true philosophies
They gibber, keen on all the clever blabber matters
And maths of red tape wit, to preach without a god
But the simple-minded ass will wreck the smart alec
For he wants a yes or no reply to questions children ask
Let me build, aflame with faith and fluff, the tallest temple
Whence the sinners chased away the saints and sold our souls
So that I, a witch and warlock, get to be ordained in spite of God
Mercy! Send the angels led by Gabriel who will blow the horns
To shake this ward of wisest wizards waging all their wars …
